Mexcaltitan
is located in the Indian State of Nayarit, south of Mazatlan.
You will have the most fantastic boat ride through the estuaries
that are full of small islands, swamps and mangroves. Here
you will be able to watch literally millions of tropical
birds. The streets of the island are frequently flooded during
high tides and raining days. For this reason, the place
is well known as the Mexican Venice. The natives who are
descendents of Aztecs, Huichol and Cora Indians, transport
themselves by canoe just as the Aztecs used to. Later we
will see the museum that is full of pottery made by Aztecs
thousands of years ago.
