A spectacular tour towards the foothills of the SIERRA MADRE MOUNTAINS. You will see and visit the historical and picturesque colonial villages of Concordia and Copala.
Nestling among the hills lies Copala, an ancient mining town, with red roofs, steep, cobblestoned streets and smiling, hospitable people, where time seems to have stood still. Copola boasts a number of pleasant restaurants and shops offering a range of handicrafts from all over the country.
During the tour you will be able to admire the hand made furniture, pottery and brick factories, The Rustic Bakery and Saint Sebastián Church. With only 600 residents in Copala, you can stroll on quaint cobblestone streets to see rustic colonial buildings, The San José Church and an adorable little square. Also, the tour is complemented with original works of art from local artists.
On the way to Copala on board our excellent air conditioned and comfortable reclining seat buses you will have an excellent view of mountain scenery.

What people have said about Copala Mexico
Hidden high in the Sierra Madre above Mazatlan is the beautiful town of
Copala which once was a gold mining area. Walking the cobblestone main
street which is wide enough for a mule and VW beatle to pass each
other.
Children quickly surround you showing off the wood carvings they have made of the buildings in the town. The older the child the greater the detail. The children learn the art of carving from an artist who lives in the area and has a shop in the town.
The stark beauty of the chruch is a must visit. Be sure to walk around
the outside and see the plates in the walls. It is easy to loose track
of time in this peaceful small town. Copala is a place once you have
been there it will always be in your mind. I"ll be back (

About Copala
Copala is a delightful little town, founded in 1565 thanks to its rich mineral lands. Built into the slopes of a small valley about 40 miles from Mazatlan, its cobblestone roads, colonial style homes, flower patios, and provincial air has converted this town into a refreshing resort in the foothills of the Sierra Madre Mountains. Copala will make you feel that you have just stepped back into time. For years Copala was a virtual ghost town. This village has been slowly restored and is once again thriving, now it is tourism that is bringing people to this charming foothill setting of what once was the ancestral home of former President Lopez Portillo. The impressive Church of San Jose , built in 1740, is one of the finest among its area.
