Components usually include a ½- to 1-ounce egg-shaped weight, plastic bead, 3- to 6-foot leader, hook and soft plastic bait.

When/Where to Use

Although sometimes used for shallow water bass in sparse cover, the Carolina rig is primarily a deep water tool. Works best on clean bottoms or thin vegetation.
