To satisfy your need for the hottest and latest latin beats, on the intersection between Ave. Camaron Sabalo and Ave Rodolfo T. Loaiza is Mundo Banana's. Very popular among locals, they offer ladies night Thursdays and Sundays with open bar for the ladies from 9 till 11:00pm. A block from Camaron Sabalo is Ave Rodolfo Loaiza, which is a strip of restaurants and clubs. The most popular along here are Gringo Lingo and Joe's Oyster Bar. Av. de Las Garzas acts a a bridge between the two, and is covered with more nightlife. Walk a couple of blocks north on Rodolfo T. Loaiza Ave. and to your left you'll come in contact with a much popular restaurant/dance club among locals, Mango's. (We recommend you come early on any given Friday, especially on Saturdays). Walk two minutes and you'll come a cross Blu. Across the street from Blu's is PepeToro, which caters to both straight and gay people alike. Open Thurs-Sunday,
At the southern end of the Zona is the unmissable Fiesta Land complex. Inside are a total of 7 restaurants and clubs; the most popular of which are Bora-Bora, which is filled with a younger crowd who enjoy dancing on the bar, and Valentinos which is another lively club, with a large dance floor and open bar on weekends. Others include Bali Hai (Sports Video Bar & Restaurant), Canta Bar (Karaoke Bar), Mikinos (Piano Bar), and Pepe's & Joe (Restaurant & Brew Pub).
Further down Av. Del Mar, is Seņor Frogs, offering techno Fridays and a packed house on Saturdays. A couple of minutes down the street the newest addition to Mazatlan's exciting night-life, El Coliseo, provides the crowd with lights, loud popular music, and much dancing. Also on Av. Del Mar is El Toro Bravo which provides you with a variety of music plus a mechanical bull for anyone willing to go for a spin (nobody wants to clean up after you, so please don't drink "too much" is you decide to go for a ride)..
Movies in Mazatlan are incredibly cheap compared to Canada and the US, even if they are a few months behind in distribution. Admission is $30 pesos, $22 before 6pm, and 2x1 on Wednesdays. There is one theater in the Zona Dorada, north of Valentinos, one in the Gran Plaza mall, and two on Calle Juan Carrasco, west of Av. Del Mar.
